Numbers and prices
Prices are everywhere: shops, menus, the school's letters about fees. This lesson covers the numbers you hear most, the sound changes in 300, 600 and 800, and counting in (10,000) instead of thousands. Tap to hear any line. The bar at the bottom plays a hands-free drill for walking.

How big numbers work
Most numbers are regular: に + = にひゃく. A few change their sound. Those are the ones in red.
| Number | Sound | Say it |
|---|

- Prices end in . . "How much?" is いくら.
- 4, 7 and 9. In prices they're よん, なな and きゅう. You'll hear し, しち and く in times and dates (Lessons 4 and 5).
