Getting things done: ~てもらう
~てもらう means "have someone do something for you" or "get someone to do it". It's the same favour as ~てくれる, told from your side, and it's how you talk about getting your hair cut, having something fixed or getting help. Tap to hear any line. The bar at the bottom plays a hands-free drill for walking.

M
Same favour, from your side
With ~てくれる the helper is the subject. With ~てもらう you are, and the helper takes に.
| Helper | Form | Example |
|---|
- に marks the helper. : I got help from a friend.
- No helper needed. For shops and services, leave the person out: (I had my watch fixed).
- くれた or もらった? Both are fine and both sound grateful. もらった hints a little more that you asked.
