Because: から and ので
Giving a reason is what turns short sentences into conversation. から is the everyday "because" or "so"; ので is softer, for the school, work and shops. Both come after the reason, not before it. Tap to hear any line. The bar at the bottom plays a hands-free drill for walking.

How to add から and ので
Both go straight after the reason. Verbs and い-adjectives need nothing extra. Nouns and な-adjectives take だから or なので.
| After | Add | Example |

- Reason first. is "It's raining, so I'm not going." The reason always comes before から.
- から or ので? から is direct and everyday. ので sounds softer, so use it for excuses and requests at work, at the school and in shops.
