Rallying
Rallying is racing against the clock on closed roads: gravel, tarmac and snow. Japan has its own round of the World Rally Championship, ラリージャパン, which in recent years has run on mountain roads in Aichi and Gifu. This lesson covers stages, co-drivers, gaps in seconds and watching from the roadside. Tap to hear any line. The bar at the bottom plays a hands-free drill for walking.

- Against the clock. Cars start one at a time, a minute or two apart. The lowest total time wins, so the gap () matters more than overtaking.
- Cars . The verb for cars racing is the same as running: = race on snow.
- Watching safely. Watch only from the marked spectator areas (). Expect long walks and early starts, and do what the marshals say.
