Ordering and allergies
Ordering is easy once you know a few lines. The hard part is checking what's in a dish. This lesson covers menus, recommendations, asking for changes and saying what you can't eat. (can't eat) is the can-form from Everyday Japanese 3. Tap to hear any line. The bar at the bottom plays a hands-free drill for walking.

| Word | Means | Say it |
|---|
- Call the staff. Call out すみません or press the bell on the table. Waiting to be noticed can take a long time.
- Allergies. Menus often show allergy icons. Say , then ask about each dish.
